Why Use a Migration Plugin?

A migration plugin creates a full backup copy of your WordPress site and imports it into your new hosting automatically. Unlike manual migration, you don’t need to:

• Download/upload files manually
• Export/import databases manually
• Edit wp-config.php

Migration with All-In-One WP Migration

Step 1: Install Plugin on Old Site

1. Login to your WordPress dashboard
2. Go to Plugins → Add New
3. Search for “All-in-One WP Migration”
4. Install and activate

Step 2: Create a Full Backup

1. Go to All-in-One WP Migration → Export
2. Select “Export to → File”
3. Wait until the export completes
4. Download the exported file to your computer

Step 3: Prepare Your New Hosting

• Install WordPress on Nairahost using Softaculous
• Login to the new WP dashboard
• Install the same All-in-One WP Migration plugin

Step 4: Import Your Website

1. Go to All-in-One WP Migration → Import
2. Select the backup file you downloaded
3. Wait for upload & restoration
4. Click “Proceed” when asked to overwrite the new site

When done you’ll be logged out and must login again using your old site's admin credentials.

Migration with Duplicator (Alternative Method)

DUPLICATOR works differently — it creates an installer file and a package.

Step-by-Step

1. Install Duplicator in your old WP site
2. Create a new package
3. Download both:
   • archive.zip
   • installer.php
4. Upload both files to your new hosting via File Manager
5. Visit: yourdomain.com/installer.php
6. Follow installer wizard

Final Steps

• Replace nameservers with:
  • cPanel: ns1.nairahost.cloud / ns2.nairahost.cloud
  • DirectAdmin: ns1.nairahost.com.ng / ns2.nairahost.com.ng
• Wait for DNS propagation
• Test your site
